Suzan Beynon

Suzan Beynon is a self-taught textile artist from Amsterdam. With a lifelong interest in design and creativity, she decided to change course in 2023. After a career of over thirty years in magazine and book publishing, she traded her permanent job to work as a freelancer. She now combines her passion for books and textiles.

Suzan works without a pre-set plan, letting her intuition and creative spirit guide her. This results in unique and organic artworks, carefully hand-embroidered. Abstraction meets graphic precision and design in her work; she plays with shapes and lines to create a contemporary aesthetic. Her choice of materials is diverse, ranging from wool and cotton to even buttons, beads and shells. She draws inspiration from nature, interior design and the travels she has made.

Viewers are invited to wander through the rich textures and lose themselves in the subtle nuances of color and composition and experience the works from multiple perspectives.
